FEDERAL DESIGN OR LOGO SEARCH
The Federal Design or Logo Search finds registered, pending and recently abandoned trademarks composed of a particular design, letter or numeral in the official USPTO (U.S. Patent and Trademark Office) records.
The report contains the most relevant trademarks and includes both a detailed computer summary and a copy of the actual registration certificate or drawing page for each trademark.
This search is for
design-based trademarks only, including the design portion or element of a composite (multi-element) trademark, stand-alone numbers and single letters. For text-based searches, select a
Word Search. If your trademark has both wording (text) and design elements, it is a
composite mark. Click here to select a
Composite Mark Search or a
Combination Full Search.
If your trademark consists of stylized text (words or letters in a particular shape, font, or style of lettering) without a separate design element, use one of our
text-based search packages to search the words or letters themselves. If it is the shape itself you want searched, and not the letters, then choose the Federal Design Search.
To help you decide which classes are most relevant to your trademark, we suggest you use our online
Trademark Acceptable Identification of Goods & Services Manual, typing in key words (one at a time) which best describe your goods or services. The results will indicate which descriptions the Trademark Office accepts, and which class best fits each description. If you have questions about the proper classification of your design trademark, call us and we will help you determine the best fit.
